Goodbye big brother, my mentor and confidant. You have always been there for me and I am so upset that we cannot have our regular chats again. I hope you meet dad in heaven as he meant so much to you. Please forgive me for not being able to make your funeral but I will have a memorial service as we did for Olga. Rest in peace till we meet again 🙏🙏 Ken
The first time I met Rex was at Jane and Marcelo’s wedding. He came up to me at the reception and said, “Hi, I’m Rex” then, with a wave of his hand around the room, said “I paid for this.” I thought “Wow, this guy’s out there!” and he remained a part of my life ever since. I feel lucky to have known both Rex and Helen and will never forget their kindness and generosity. A man like Rex never really dies; he lives on in all those who knew him.
Charles, my heart goes out to you at losing your special father. Rex was an amazing individual, caring, loving and generous. I am sure you will miss him.
Sorry I’m unable to attend his service.
Kind regards
Marianne McKee

Hard to say goodbye after over 40 years enjoyed our lunch at southport yacht club just weeks before your passing and will miss our many catch up phone calls rest in peace old friend
My deepest condolences to Jane, her family, and Rex’s family. Rex was a very kind and helpful man during a chapter of my & L’s life a couple of decades back. I’m sure all who crossed paths will have similar memories of a fine man. May he rest in peace now.
Rex, you were simply the best (after all you were our Best Man at our wedding on 30 October 1982 which incidentally was also you birthday). You will be sadly missed.
Rex was a top guy who won’t be forgotten.
A beautiful tribute to Rex, sorry that I could not be there. My heartfelt sympathies to all his family and friends and a warm hug to Charles.
Love Kerry
Thank you for the opportunity to be with you in spirit via the livestream … I was privileged to have spent some time with Rex both whilst I was in Lismore [perhaps more at work] and also on some skiing holidays in Canada [more at play]. I am having trouble finding the words to put down here but appreciated the opportunity to see and hear the celebration of Rex’s life with some of his friends and family and am sorry that I wont get to catch up with Rex when I am next in Lismore. My thoughts and feelings are with you. The service brought back so many fond and fun memories… I feel that some of Rex’s energy is in me. I will remind myself, as Charles recounted Rex teaching him – that visions within can be calls to action. – with love, Lachlan.
Rest in peace REX
A beautiful tribute to Rex from his loving family. May his memory always be a blessing
Charles, my heart goes out to you at losing your special father. Rex was an amazing individual, caring, loving and generous. I am sure you will miss him and his love of life
That was a beautiful and totally fitting Farewell to an extraordinary man. Thank you.
All of the Family spoke extremely well and straight from the heart. Rex was with you, and would have been so proud and humbled at what he saw & heard.
The photos and music were well-chosen, also. They were cherished memories of an old Friend and I felt like I was there with you all.
A Prayer, special blessing and candle were lit for him, in Westminster Abbey this week.
With love to dear Rex’s Family,
Annette Webb
Rex was a king . A self made man – his life story in short is in facebooks” humans of Lismore “ page . The was known to be consistently generous . He loved to chat about his fantastic achievements . He loved my sister Helen dearly and together they made a great industrious team . His passion was housing repair and his garden . His funeral obituary constantly outlined his great sense of humour and a go get it attitude along with a desire to be fair and kind . I like many will constantly feel a loss at his tragic death . Another strong fair pillar from another generation slips away from all of us .
God bless your energetic enthusiastic spirit Rex
I’m so sorry I did not get to attend Rex’s service, I most definitely would have if I’d known of his passing.. I will never forget Rex & Helen and their generosity, having met them both 29yrs ago through the connection of our sons. Working alongside Rex & Stan taught me so much and to be a very independent woman, also for allowing me to pick his brains about realestate, I will always be grateful. Rest easy Rex ❤️
Rex was one of a kind, you always walked away from encounters with him with a smile on your face. He always had a hug and endless stories to tell. His wisdom and knowledge were always appreciated and his business sense was second to none.
Will miss him dearly and hope that he is in a happy place.
