We were so sorry to hear of Des’ passing.
His unwavering loyalty and dedication to the foundation of the Myall Creek Massacre Memorial and his sustained commitment to ‘truth telling in history’ and a reconciled, just and equitable Australia were tremendous. He held a very important role in the telling and understanding of Myall Creek Massacre reconciliation journey.
He also always had a huge smile and a kind [or funny] word for everyone.
Our thoughts are with Jenny and their family. Des will be truly and deeply missed.

I had the privilege of working under Des as his 2ic at CBA Raymond Terrace 1984/85. Saddened to learn of his death.
A very supportive and progressive Manager who stood up to the hierarchy.
Two of the best years of my career.
