It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death
of our dear Husband, Father and Poppy.
Denis passed away suddenly at Grafton Base Hospital on
Monday 10 March 2025 with his family’s love surrounding him.
Devoted husband of Denise (née Arandale) for 56 Years.
Beloved Father & Father-in-law of Michael & Clare,
Karlee & Geoff Lyons, and Matthew & Alana.
Cherished Poppy of Zac, Thomas, Eden, Jack, Harry & Great Grandfather of Lexi.
Dear son of Daphne & Francis Benfield (Both Decd).
Brother of Frank (Decd) & Clare, Anne & Noel (Decd), Tony & Gail,
Marie & Stan, Gerard & Kath, Mary & Greg.
Brother-in-law of Cheryl & Glen (Decd), John & Helen, Mark and Melissa.
Friend to many.
Fierce advocate for all veterans.
Service to country.
Loved and remembered by many.
Funeral Details
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Denis’ life to be held on Wednesday 19 March 2025 at The Gwydir Chapel, Parkview Funerals, 27 Cowan Street South Grafton commencing at 10:30am. His service to his country will be honoured by a Grafton RSL Sub-Branch ceremony.
