passed away peacefully on 17 June 2023
at St Vincent’s Hospital, Lismore.
Aged 91 years
Dearly loved husband of Brenda and father of Russell.
Rest in Peace
John loved this beautiful world and travelled extensively.
He also appreciated to the full his life on the land and the natural environment.
A man of many talents, knowledge and wisdom, he had a lovely sense of humour
and was admired and liked by all who knew him.
He epitomised that greatest of human attributes, modesty.
Funeral Details
A memorial service will be held on Monday, 10th July 2023
at St Mark’s Anglican Church Casino NSW commencing at 11 a.m.

Dear Brenda, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. We are blessed to have known John.
Unfortunately recent surgery prevented us from attending.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take part at this emotional ceremony. I am so glad that we met John with you both at our home during your visit to Germany. With love, Ursula
John, rest in peace.
Those two pictures are so perfect of John.
Glad he is at peace..and free of his earthly discomfort.
And you Brenda and Russell have been such a comfort to him.
Although John was very energetic throughout his life and launched himself into many adventures, he basically was a generous and humble man who never stopped trying to learn something new, I admired how he respected people in shanty towns.
I will never forget how, on a hot and humid day, John dived into the waters of the Amazon, where the presence of the deadly piranhas was suspected and how the locals yelled at him to get out, which he did, luckily unharmed. In his swimmers John looked like a large fish and that may have scared the piranhas away.
Forever in our hearts John, a big hug to heaven.
I am very sorry to hear of John’s passing and our thoughts are with you. Jan and Barry have moved into aged care at Beaumont Care, Wamuran. They would love to get in touch with you.
