Aged 95, of Ballina NSW, passed away peacefully at Florence Price Gardens on 1 November 2024, supported by the love of his family.

Graham was born to the late Harold and Laurel Herford on 7 March 1929, at Northwood in Sydney. He graduated from Sydney Church of England Grammar School (“Shore”), in 1945, the year WWII ended, and received a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Sydney University in 1949.

He married Pamela Leggett in 1952, and they lived on the North Shore of Sydney before moving to the Northern Rivers area of NSW in the mid 1970s. Graham is survived by his four children Jenny, Ian, Ross, and Robyn. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graham was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked as Managing Director of the family luggage business and then as a counsellor, lecturer and consultant in small business. In retirement, he and Pam took up caravanning and criss-crossed Australia for many years, enjoying remote locations and the company of other travellers. He also relished golf, which he and Pam played together. Graham was always ready to offer support to his family and was renowned for his sense of humour and his love of a good joke.

Graham’s funeral service will be held at Parkview Funeral Home, Ballina at 1 pm AEDT on Monday 2 December 2024. We request that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
