Helen passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family
at Grafton Base Hospital on Wednesday 6 August 2025.
Dearly loved wife of Stephen ‘Grover’ Nelson.
Devoted mother & mother-in-law of Rebecca & Michael, and Sarah & Paul.
Cherished Nan of Daniel, Saxon, Ella and James.
Daughter of Joyce & Frank Watts.
Loved sister of Lynette, Stephen (Decd), Grahame and Alan.
Loved and missed by all.
Funeral Details
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a funeral service in celebration of Helen’s life to be held at The Gwydir Chapel, Parkview Funerals 27 Cowan Street, South Grafton, on Thursday 14 August 2025 commencing at 10:30am.
After the service, the cortege will proceed to the Clarence Lawn Cemetery for interment.

We had the joy of becoming good friends with Helen, feeling very blessed for her friendship over their Mount Isa era.
Fondly reminiscing her quiet witty demeanour, sometimes at Steve’s expense…her other half & best mate, the love for her girls, that filled her with so much joy and pride. Her passion for gardening, nature, travel, photography, photo books and witnessing her determination in making beautiful baby clothes quilts for her much love and adored grandchildren.
We will cherish the sound of your laughter and the memories we have shared forever. Always in our hearts, Cheers Helen…we’ll have a red for the road! 🍷💐
