Dear Marilyn and Family,
I am unable to be with you in person today, but John and you are in my thoughts as you farewell John.
My heartfelt condolences from my family to yours.
I have been privilidged to have been a classmate mate of Johns from 3rd calss to Form 4 (Year 10) at Kyogle as well as a classmate of yours at Casino High. John was a gifted athelete, yet modest and generous and easy to be with. The wide range of tributes is testamony to his character as a person.
May he rist in peace and may we always remeber him fondly.

Alan Grahamsays:

I was of John’s age from Mullumbimby High School and competed against John in athletics throughout high school. I never won a race such was John’s prodigious sprinting talent. While we competed at school we joined together in the northern rivers team at the Combined High Schools athletics championships on a few occasions. I stayed with the Chaselings in Kyogle for training sessions on one occasion We became good friends and enjoyed a number of teenage boy experiences on the way. Unfortunately we lost touch after high school. I wish to express my condolences to his family whom I never met but also his siblings who I did meet. John was a fine young man when I knew him and my thoughts are with his wife, children and siblings as you go through this tough period.
