To Sue and your boys, our sincerest sorry, and condolences in farewelling Ray, your lifetime partner, friend and Dad. Ray was my brother in law for a short time and I always enjoyed time in his company. He lived a great life as the smile testified too, and after communicating with him in recent months, I conveyed my admiration for the long fight he maintained against his illness, and the grace he displayed in choosing to say goodbye on his terms, absolute bravery and love and empathy for his much-loved family. Farewell mate, no more suffering, and if there are warm winds and good waves in the next life, I have no doubt you will be “Hangin Five”.
To Sue and family,it is only today that I learnt that Ray had passed away. Our sincere condolence to you and your family for your loss of a wonderful man. Warmest Regards Steve and Kim Sloane .
Our thoughts are with you, Sue, Jackson and Nelson.

good bye ray, he was one of my most special friends and along with others we have enjoyed the most wonderful of lives together. we met as 7 year olds and sixty plus years later our lives have parted. we had a great time, from soccer to cricket to school to surfing to water in the mouth game to cars to camping to partying to holidays to girlfriends, wives and children to houses, homes, families, friends and old age: our friendship has never faltered. i will always miss you as we have shared a long time together with understanding of what matters in life and death. co-ordinated, capable and blessed with skills to be admired and respected. great to play with and always a challenge to play against with spirit, skill and ability. bye golly we had fun. always made you laugh, loved by all who met him and cherished by all who knew him. wonderful fellow who loved his family most for all. we have said our goodbyes many times and sadly this is the last time. too many tears have passed but most of all thank you for your love and friendship. sue and your children will carry you on in their lives and you are blessed for that and the knowledge that you have shaped their lives together with the many friends you have known. forever your friend ……

Surrounded by water. I know the water made you happy. We are all swimming the tide with you.
cheers
What a wonderful tribute to Ray, truly one of the kindest, funniest men around.
His gifts shared so generously amongst those he loved. I remember being with Sue once, when she looked over at Ray and said “he still cracks me up, every single day” and this was after several decades together.
So many wonderful memories shared today.
He will live on in everyone he has touched, as everyone will always have a “Ray” moment worth sharing
A beautiful tribute to Ray from family and close friends. What a wonderful life Ray embraced.
It was nice to hear about his humour the funny stories and loving memories. Such a fun guy who enjoyed weekends with the cricket boys where I first met him. I loved those days at cricket matches and later bowls and the drinks with all the boys in Manly.
Farewell Ray you are fondly loved by so many.
A beautiful service for a beautiful, kind funny man. Ray Ludeke, I think you are the funniest guy I have ever known, so many treasured hilarious memories of us all together in our “younger” years. Love to you Sue, and family. So wished I could have been there today, but sadly, that closed highway stopped us! Thinking of you all today. Love and hugs. Michelle xxx
Thank you for sharing Rayโs Memorial service on the Livestream. Our sincere condolences ๐ to Sue, Jackson, Nelson, Jenny and the entire family. I had the privilege of meeting Ray on my first 2 trips to Sydney in 1982. We hung went out Partying in the Pubs (Blokes only) and as Ray would say the Garden Bars (where the Sheilaโs would go). He took me Surfing ๐โโ๏ธ in Manly and had a good laugh at me trying to sit on a High performance Surfboard that I chose because it looked cool ๐. I will never forget all of the great times I had with Ray and he was one of a kind.
