To those mourning the loss of Shane Garrett,
Please know that Shane was a well loved, respected and an essential leader of technology at Southern Cross University.
His passion for technology was only bested by his heart. His unwavering dedication was surely developed out of a strength of character that he’d built through family, travel and career. He carried with great dignity at all times and was rewarded with the utmost of respect at SCU.
More than this though, he was my dear friend and frankly, I’m devasted at the loss. We go way back at the University. I’m really going to miss the depth of conversation; Shane was a great thinker, a futurist and unbounded optimist. Even the nature of his home garden brickwork was a source of depth, mathematics and art.
I’m so sorry for your loss. If you ever need anything at all, I’d be there for you all.
With my regards, sorrow and condolences, Paul.
Deepest sympathy to Della and family.
The loss of a wonderful man. My memories of Shane from the years of working with him are his generosity, warmth, gentleness and kindness. He will be very missed.
